Japanese Damascene Compact c. 1920's

Category: Vanity & Perfume

This compact has an elaborate gold inlaid scene on a black matte finish depicting a pagoda, lady with parasol leaving in a rickshaw, a boat floating gently in a river, and a lovely mountain in the distance. Around the black matte is a band of silver filagree. All is set in a smooth, gold compact with a classic thumb-latch. A perfect mirror is set into the lid and a cream-colored powder puff with a silk band imprinted with the "clover" logo sits atop a finely stiched mesh screen awaiting the facial powder of your choice.

Never used, though storage and age has made some slight scuffing on the back of the case. Comes slipped into its original soft grey flannel pouch.

HIP price (in gently used condition) = $80.00 (+5 S/H within continental US)
