After researching it, we have determined that it is from the Atomic Age circa late 1950's. It is the original of the copy offered by Rejuvination Hardware called "Cove." "fixtures that are right at home in a mid-century ranch house, rambler, or split level -- all home styles that have recently seen their 50th birthdays." The clean modern lines of a gleaming perforated cone make for an unusually decorative accent light." --Quoted from Inspiration-Lighting, Moe Light, 1957, and still true today. Commonly used in multiples over vanities, built-in planters, kitchen counters, and such, the Cove is a ranch-house classic - and a predecessor of the modern "can" light. We're fond of it but it doesn't fit this 1914 Craftsman bungalow at ALL. So, it must go. Into the Estate Sale...lucky you!.
HIP Price for the light: SOLD! All items are shipped via USPS unless otherwise noted above. If you'd like to propose a different method of payment, shipping method or price contact us at shop @ houseinprogress.net. |
